• Buyer - Cooking and Dishwashers

    As a Buyer for cooking and dishwashers, you will manage vendor partner relationships and make merchandise assortment decisions to meet sales, margin, and inventory turnover goals for your assigned categories and vendors. 

    A day in the life of a Buyer who specializes in Cooking and Dishwashers:

    • Manages vendor programs and vendor relationships with assigned vendor partners
    • Manages cooking and dishwasher category performance to maximize profitability and achieve financial objectives
    • Manages all aspects of the merchandise offering – selection, negotiation, pricing, procurement and disposition ensuring selection meets and exceeds customer value expectations
    • Develops category promotions and works with marketing team to select products that maximize return of advertising expense and ensure promotional execution
    • Presents products during assortment reviews and business reviews
    • Attends relevant trade shows to observe market trends, gather product information, and establish business relationships with potential vendors
    • Creates and enters purchase orders, reviews order confirmations for pricing accuracy and inventory availability, and communicates product availability status to Merchandising Team and store teams
    • Communicates with vendors and merchandising team regarding backorders, determine estimated-time-of-arrival for outstanding orders and product transitions
    • Works with vendors and Director of Merchandising regarding chargebacks, volume rebates, merchandising funds, financial information, current trends, and market changes that impact buying decisions and strategies
    • Visits stores to evaluate merchandise mix and gain competitive information
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by management

    • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple priorities

    Job Requirements: 

    • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
    • 4 years of relevant work experience
    • Previous experience in buying, vendor management, inventory management, and/or retail
