Anita Raymond, LISW, CMC, is the Program Manager of the Protective Services, Center for Excellence in Supported Decision Making, and Care Management & Consultation programs at VOA MN. At the conclusion of the presentation, participants will be able to:
- List types, powers, and limitations of decision-makers and when decision-makers are needed
- List at least 5 alternatives to guardianship/conservatorship
- Understand statutory and practical aspects: when guardianship/conservatorship may be an effective option for a client and when court intervention may not be the best option
- Describe interaction, difference, and similarities between authority of guardian, health care agent, family member, attorney-in-fact, and conservator
