Job Description

Summary: The Maintenance Worker performs all maintenance and repairs for Rihm Kenworth’s South Saint Paul and Coon Rapids, MN dealerships, as well as small scale projects in other Branch locations based on request.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine maintenance on Rihm Kenworth’s property and related structures,
  • Performs maintenance and repairs on office furniture, doors, walls, ceilings, and / or floors,
  • Performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance on chillers, boilers, and other building system equipment not covered by maintenance agreements and basic electrical repairs,
  • Erects, removes, repairs, and maintains signage throughout the property,
  • Refills restroom supplies, such as toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, etc. as needed,
  • Clears walkways and entrances of snow and ice,
  • Maintains landscaping beds to keep them free of weeds and debris,
  • Cleans hail guards on roof HVAC units weekly,
  • Provides monitoring and maintenance of catch basins, pumps, and other related structures for the purpose of storm water and flooding control,
  • Maintains fire, carbon monoxide, and smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and other safety systems,
  • Maintains building and grounds lighting and changes light bulbs as necessary,
  • Maintains equipment and tools used in performance of duties,
  • Occasionally travels to other Rihm Kenworth dealerships to complete projects,
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.


Education and / or Experience Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent,
  • Three years of related job experience, or a combination of training and experience,
  • Must have clean driving record and be insurable under the parameters of the Company’s motor vehicle insurance policy,
  • Must have basic computer skills,
  • Must have the ability to use e-mail, a cellphone, and to text message,
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form,
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations,
  • Ability to work reliably with little supervision,
  • Must provide basic carpentry and mechanical hand tools. Specialty tools will be provided.

  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear.
  • The employee is often required to climb and occasionally required to balance.
