    Event Description:
    Presented by the Minnesota Department of Human Services Resettlement Program Office, this program covers the basics of the refugee journey from the refugee camp, through the extensive security vetting process, to U.S. arrival. The presentation clarifies the legal definition of who is eligible to have refugee status, describes the Refugee Admissions System, and explains the roles of resettlement agencies, the community, and the State of Minnesota. We will discuss the different cultures and populations with refugee status who are currently in Minnesota and how recent changes in federal policy will affect Minnesota in the future.
