JA-in-a-Day on June 1st, 2016 at Rum River Elementary School
- What: Volunteers integrate stories about their personal and professional path as they facilitate JA lessons to inspire students to dream big and provide them information about the skills needed to succeed in school and beyond. The JA lessons use fun, hands-on activities to help students better understand entrepreneurship, how to manage money and what it means to be a responsible citizen, consumer and worker. JA Volunteers work with a classroom of students in local K-12 schools.
- How: JA Volunteers teach the JA lessons
- JA in a Day – Facilitate five 30 to 45 minute JA lessons back-to-back during one 4 hour classroom visit
- Two volunteers are in each classroom and the teacher remains in the classroom the whole time to assist in anyway needed
- Volunteers select the grade level they want to work with – Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th grade.
- A two sentence synopsis of each of the five JA lessons in each grade specific JA program can easily be provided.
- Check out video of a local volunteer in an elementary classroom on this link.
