SUMMARY:What's Coming Down the Road: Transportation & Your Business
DESCRIPTION:It's no secret that addressing our transportation needs is one of the KEY issues facing our State. What IS a secret\, though\, is how to unlock that mystery. Transportation affects all of us\, from moving goods to moving people\, and we all pay for infrastructure one way or another. Therefore all of us must be part of the conversation on how to move forward. On August 6th at Harvest Grill\, join us for a luncheon on 'what's coming down the road' from 2 different perspectives. \n\n \n\nOur first presenter is Randal O'Toole\, a senior fellow with the Cato Institute and author of 5 books\, including Gridlock: Why We're Stuck in Traffic and What to Do About It. Currently residing in Oregon\, before working for Cato he taught environmental economics at Yale\, UC Berkeley\, and Utah State University.\n\n \n\nOur 2nd presenter is MnDoT Commissioner Charles Zelle\, who came to MnDOT from Jefferson Lines\, an intercity bus company with routes in 13 heartland states. He worked there for more than 20 years\, serving as President and CEO. Mr. Zelle received the George Rucker Award by the Community Transportation Association in 2009 and the Ray L. Lappegaard Distinguished Service Award by Center of Transportation Studies in 2012. Born and raised in St. Paul\, Zelle received a BA from Bates College and a MBA from the Yale School of Management.\n\n \nThere will be plenty of time for Q&A. Don't miss this chance to be a part of this national\, state and local conversation.
