DESCRIPTION:How has public safety in the north metro changed over the past few years? How have local businesses been impacted? Anoka County Sheriff James Stuart will provide insights on this as well as reflections of his tenure. As you may know\, Sheriff Stuart has decided not to run for re-election\, so we have asked him to share some of his thoughts and experiences from being the 17th Sheriff of Anoka County. \n\n\n\nSheriff Stuart is a Marine\, and a graduate of St. Mary's University and the 102nd session of the National Sheriff's Institute and studied Public Safety Leadership at the University of MN\, Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs. He is committed to the development of our youth\, community partnerships and service that exceeds expectations. He was nominated for "National Sheriff of the Year" and was awarded the Medal of Merit by the National Sheriff's Association in 2015\, 2016 and 2019 for his contributions to the community and to the field of criminal justice.
