DESCRIPTION:Packed With Love Challenge\n\nMove Your Feet\, So Kids Can Eat\n\nMove a mile for every child!\n\nRaising Funds for Food Packs\n\n\n\nWoMN Strong is partnering with The Sheridan Story\, a local non-profit dedicated to ending child hunger. This family-friendly event will raise money to provide weekend food packs for children in need in participating schools all over the Twin Cities.  \n\nOver 200\,000 children in the state of Minnesota live with food insecurity\, including 100\,000 children in the Twin Cities. While there are many programs providing lunch and breakfast to children at school\, the weekend presents a gap during which children struggle with hunger. The Sheridan Story is leveraging community and school partnerships to fight child hunger by providing a weekend's supply of food to hungry children. \n\nThe Sheridan Story facilitates a partnership between community organizations. These organizations sponsor a school\, which encompasses investing in the relationship with the school and also paying for\, packing\, and distributing food directly to the children. The Sheridan Story provides the logistical\, sourcing\, and organizational expertise necessary to execute the process of providing a weekend food supply. The goal of the partnerships is to feed hungry children while developing a lasting relationship between the community and the school.\n\n \n\nDuring this current World COVID-19 pandemic their services are needed more than ever.  It is expected that 112\,000 more children than the already thousands of children prior to the pandemic will struggle to access food through December 2020.  The number of children facing food insecurities in Minnesota is expected to climb to one of the highest rates in decades.  \n\nThe Packed With Love Challenge efforts go directly to benefit The Sheridan Story's Mission and to help them meet the demand expected this September through December\, which is estimated as a minimum of $1.8 million.  Your involvement in this challenge is imperative to help them maintain their responsibility for serving our children with food they need to learn and grow.\n\nWoMN Strong is the sponsor for the children at University Elementary School in Blaine\, MN for the 2020-21 academic year. The event will take place from Monday\, September 14th through Monday\, September 28th\, 2020. The challenge is for each registered participant to move their feet by running\, walking\, swimming\, biking\, or even unicycling to reach a personal goal by logging in their daily miles.  This personal goal will add to the tally of cumulative miles for all the participants in hopes to reach 1 mile for each of the 7\,000 children served by The Sheridan Story each year.\n\nOur fundraising goal is $10\,000\n\nREGISTER TODAY!\n\n\nSponsorship opportunities still open.
