Dr. McGuire is also actively engaged in worldwide biodiversity research and preservation of the environment\; efforts to address disparities and suboptimal outcomes in our education system\; and the importance of the arts to our society.  \n\n\n\nIn Feb. 2013\, Dr. McGuire became the owner of the Minnesota Stars\, the professional soccer team that is part of the North American Soccer League.
