DESCRIPTION:At our February membership meeting we will explore the challenges Anoka County faces between now and 2020. Our focus will be on three specific areas: the commercial real estate market\, housing trends\, and population shifts. With the massive surge of baby boomers that will be leaving the workforce and in many cases moving into new living arrangements\, the impact on our community will be profound. As business and community leaders\, it is important to be prepared for the changes that will occur within a few short years. We have assembled an all-star panel to share how these impending changes will impact the local business community and the future development of Anoka County. The panelists include Tom Gillespie\, the Minnesota State Demographer\, and Mary Bujold\, President of Maxfield Research Group\, which specializes in housing trend issues. Collin Barr\, the regional president of Ryan Companies\, has been invited to speak. Ryan Companies is one of the premier national commercial development companies and is headquartered in Minnesota.
