DESCRIPTION:FUNDRAISER\n\n\n\nIn Honor & Memory of: EDITH (our sister in law's guide dog)\n \n\nTo Benefit: GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND\n\nGuide Dogs for the Blind envisions a world with greater inclusion\, opportunity\, and independence by optimizing the unique capabilities of people and dogs.  They empower lives by creating exceptional partnerships between people\, dogs\, and communities.\n\n                  \n\n \n\nLeah's Story\n\n \n\nEdith changed my life in unimaginable ways.\n\nI got Edith on July 4th 2001.  This brought a whole new meaning to the idea of Independence Day.  I had no idea how much I needed her until I had her. My life began to change in ways I never dreamed of.\n\nBecause of Edith I was able to spread my wings and explore life on my own.  There were a number of extreme life challenges over the 13 years I had Edith.  She was the one constant.  Having her by my side gave me strength and courage to carry on regardless of how difficult life became.  She guided me through physical obstacles and supported me through the emotional ones.\n\nIt is difficult to put in to words the preciousness of the bond we shared and only other people with a service dog can truly understand it but it is not an exaggeration when I say Edith brought me to life and gave me what I needed at exactly the right time every day for 13 wonderful years.\n\nLosing her was one of the more difficult things I have experienced but this also opens the door for the next amazing guide.
