DESCRIPTION:The North Metro Mayors Association is hosting legislative candidate forums in eight North Metro cities. NMMA will partner with local chambers of commerce\, Anoka Area\, MetroNorth\, Twin Cities North\, and TwinWest\, along with other community partners\, to put a spotlight on transportation\, economic development and other issues important to the region.\n\n\n\nThe forums are open to the public. They will be taped and aired on local cable stations. In addition to having the opportunity to meet the different candidates\, attendees also will be able to submit questions to the moderator to be answered by the candidates.\n\n\n\nThe North Metro Mayors Association represents nearly a half million residents in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis and St. Paul\, and it brings a unique voice to the state capital\, according to Kathi Hemken\, mayor of New Hope and president of the North Metro Mayors Association.\n\n \n\n"Our goal with the forums is to connect with policy makers and demonstrate that our communities face unique challenges\," said Hemken.
